Powers of Attorney 101
This video explains the two essential Powers of Attorney for every family.
1. A financial power of attorney, which allows your agent to act on your behalf to manage your daily affairs, especially if you are a business owner - should you become sick or incapacitated.
2. An advance healthcare directive, which allows your agent to make medical decisions for you in the event you cannot speak for yourself due to surgery incapacitation. All advance healthcare directives must also have a HIPPA release so your agent can speak to medical professionals on your behalf.
Who needs these? Spouses, aging parents, and yes, even your children!
Parents: This is essential for parents with 18 year old kids going away to college! Without your child's HIPPA release, you may not be able to speak to medical professionals to obtain medical information and make decisions for your child in an emergency. Make sure this is taken care of before your children leave for college! Call our text our office at (619) 535-0066 and let us put these essential documents in place for you.
