Meet our trailblazing founder, attorney, Ivette Kuyateh. This devoted Christian, wife, #girlmom and mentor to others founded Kuyateh Law Group to focus her advocacy towards serving domestic violence and human trafficking victims, families dealing with family and immigration law issues and empowering others with sound estate planning that protects their assets and peace of mind.

Often referred to as a “Wonder Woman” both in and out of the courtroom for her passion for standing strong as a voice for the voiceless and advocating for the rights of others. This former prosecutor, experienced litigator and zealous advocate having handled hundreds of trials. Mrs. Kuyateh is licenced on both coasts, in California and Virginia and has also been admitted to the practice before the United States District Court. 

Over the years, her cases have ranged from private criminal defense, family law and immigration matters to large insurance defense cases for Fortune 500 companies and public entities. Ivette is a published scholar on Federal Indian Law and holds lobbying experience at both the state and federal levels.

 

Mrs. Kuyateh earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California, Davis, with double majors in Psychology (Social-Personality emphasis) and Chicano/a Studies (Social-Policy emphasis). She then earned her Juris Doctor degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego where she distinguished herself as a Criminal Law Fellow, a published scholar on violence against women, and with her work at the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., Immigration Center for Women and Children, San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, ABA Immigration Justice Program, and the San Diego Superior Court. She also completed studies in International Human Rights and International Family Law in France at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, Faculté de Droit et Science Politique.
